Inland sailing refers to sailing on inland waters such as lakes or rivers – i.e. without tidal range, swell or open sea. Ideal for beginners and anyone who wants to gain sailing experience in a safe environment.

We offer inland sailing courses on the Old Danube in Vienna and in Rust and Weiden on Lake Neusiedl – perfectly accessible and beautifully scenic.

No! The taster sailing course is designed for absolute beginners. You will receive a short theoretical introduction and then sail directly on the water with an instructor.

The basic sailing license is an internal certificate, ideal for recreational sailing or as preparation for further courses.

The BFA inland sailing license is an official license that allows you to hire boats on inland waters and take part in regattas – also a good starting point for later sea sailing training.

The duration depends on your previous knowledge. Typically, the course lasts several days – including theory, practice and an exam on the last day.

Even children and young people can start sailing on inland waterways – for example as part of our vacation camps. For adults, we offer our own courses from taster to exam.

All courses include:

The exam consists of a theoretical and a practical part and takes place on the last day of the course. We will provide you with all the documents you need to prepare.
